“Elegance is the only beauty that never fades.” -Audrey Hepburn.
A quote from the woman herself. Audrey Hepburn. A woman with the elegance that you rarely see. The kind of elegance you’ll need only pass once to know, that she’ll leave a mark on the world. A remembrance.
Such a simple quote stayed with me for days. Trying to string into words how I felt about this quote was something so challenging. Something I needed help with.
I asked a friend. And she saw into my thoughts. Because she found the words to explain what it meant to her. To us.
Elegance is something you know. Something often misguided. It’s not the way you dress. Not a mode of fashion. Because when your clothes are taken off, you’ll still look elegant.
Elegance is something much more. Something not to be stolen from you.
My friend believes it to be inside of you. Something you cannot magically “get.” It’s a way of life. I asked what kind of lifestyle. She replied, the kind of lifestyle where elegance is how you carry yourself when life treats you as a queen & when it throws mud at you. It’s how you treat people in all steps of life. The way you love someone. And how you can love someone who doesn’t love you back. Because elegance, in part, is not withholding your love. It is the the strength you carry inside.
The beauty to never fade.
